This AUP supplements our Terms of Service. By using the Platform, you agree to comply with this policy.

1. Purpose

Makazi is a Kenyan property marketplace. This policy helps keep listings trustworthy, protects users from fraud and abuse, and keeps the Platform lawful and reliable.

2. Permitted use

You may use Makazi for lawful personal and business purposes related to property, including:

• Searching for homes, land, or commercial property across Kenya
• Saving listings, requesting viewings, and messaging agents or landlords
• Publishing accurate property listings if you are an authorised agent or landlord
• Using agent tools, trust features, and market reports we provide

3. Prohibited uses

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights
• Post false, misleading, duplicate, or fraudulent listings or reviews
• Impersonate another person, agency, landlord, or institution
• Harass, threaten, or discriminate against other users
• Transmit malware, spam, or harmful data
• Engage in unauthorised scraping, bulk extraction, or automated access
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform, servers, or networks
• Collect or store personal data about other users without permission
• Circumvent verification, trust, access controls, or security measures
• Use Makazi for money laundering, unlawful sub-letting, or other illegal activity

4. Agent and landlord conduct

Agents and landlords using Makazi must:

• Keep listings accurate, current, and lawful
• Hold any licences or authorisations required under Kenyan law for their role
• Respond to enquiries professionally and in good faith
• Only upload documents and images they have the right to share
• Not solicit deposits or payments through unofficial or deceptive channels

5. Content standards

Content you post must not infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, and must not be defamatory, deceptive, or unlawful. We may moderate, reject, or remove content that violates this policy or our Terms.

6. Enforcement

We may investigate suspected violations and take action including warnings, feature restrictions, suspension, or permanent termination. We may report illegal activity to relevant authorities where required by law. Enforcement decisions are at our reasonable discretion.
